For the thirteen year in a row the Webster Summer Celebration proved to be a huge success in many residents’ eyes. Although the afternoon did have some rain, things cleared up around six o’clock and the rest of the evening went on as planned. A jazz band called The West End Project, played first followed by the Empire Statesmen who dazzled all with their marching band music. The Skycoasters entertained from seven until the grand fireworks at 9:45 p.m. The fireworks, as was reported to me by many in attendance, where the best that they have ever seen and they cannot wait for next year.
A big thank you goes out to all the staff and volunteers at Parks and Recreation Department that made this event so successful. A special thank you goes to Mark Yaeger, Jane Lasky, Mike Buckley, Clare Guadagnino, Jason Kulik, Traci Ruffell, Jay Verna and Julie Schillaci along with the rest of the staff for all of the hard work they put into this and to seeing that this event is a huge success for the Webster community.
Garage Sales and Signs
The summer season is upon us and so are the weekend garage sales that are plentiful around the streets of Webster. While the Town of Webster does not discourage these events, we do request that when you have finished your garage sale that you take down the signs that you have put up on the corners of your street and other local roads within Webster. Leaving handmade signs, balloons and duct taped signs to street signs and outdated garage signs blowing in the wind only makes the countryside look terrible in Webster. It only took you a few minutes to put up the sign to advertise your garage sale so take the few minutes after the sale and your profits have been counted to make Webster look good again by taking down your advertising.
