In the past few weeks the West Webster area has had at least three power failures that have lasted an hour or more. I have been in contact with Rochester Gas and Electric and they tell me that an aerial cable needs replacing in the Drum Road area. This cable affects three different sub-stations all the way from West Webster to up and along Route 404.
RG&E is holding a meeting on this topic on Wednesday to get a better handle on the problem and the next steps needed to resolve this problem in Webster. They are confident that, for the time being, they have fixed the problem by rerouting around the failed cable. They hope to have a permanent fix after they have their meeting on Wednesday.
I will stay on top of this matter for our residents and feel free to contact me with any problems regarding this issue that you might have. We have a representative from RG&E for the Webster area and I am in contact with her often when it comes to these matters.
National Flood Insurance Program
There is a scheduled meeting at the Penfield Town Hall on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. regarding the new flood insurance rate changes. There were big changes in flood insurance rates that went into effect on October 1, 2013. That is the date known as the Biggert-Waters Act of 2012. While sections of the law reflect the gradual elimination of flood insurance subsidies, there are also broader implications to all policy holders. If flood insurance effects you, please be advised that this meeting will be of interest to you.
If you should you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org
