Well, it is that magical time of the year again where the Town Board will spend the next five months putting together the 2015 Town Budget. Directions to the Department Heads have gone out that submitted budget requests must be in to the Finance office no later than June 27th.
From July 7th through July 23rd I, along with the Finance Director, Kathy Tanea, will meet with each Department Head and their Town Board Liaison to go over each line item in the budget one by one.
We will craft a budget that we think will meet the needs of the Webster community and our residents; all the while understanding that we must stay under the New York State imposed tax cap so that you receive a rebate check under the new property tax freeze program.
In the coming months I will keep you advised of the details of the budget process until you get to read the budget yourself, in the Webster Herald in September, where the budget will be line-by- line in comparison with the 2014 budget expenses.
Police Bike Auction a Success
This past Saturday the Webster Police Department held an auction of bikes in their possession that where found or abandoned in Webster. The auction raised $881.00 and 36 of the 45 bikes where sold. The remaining nine bikes will be donated to R Community Bikes, Inc. Over all, this bike auction was a success and it was good to see these bikes going to a new good home.
Summer Celebration this Saturday, June 21st
Remember this weekend’s fun and games taking place at the Webster Recreation Center on Chiyoda Drive. The action begins at 4:00 p.m. with fun games and crafts along with food and beverages. At 7:45 p.m. Nik and the Nice Guys Party band will play and at 9:45 p.m. fireworks will be held at the site.
So bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy some good times with friends and neighbors of Webster and enjoy yourself at Webster’s Summer Celebration.
