On Friday, August 1st I along with Chief Pickering, Lt. Reiger and Lt. Kohlmeier attended the Police Recruit Graduation Ceremony that graduated five new Webster Police Officers into service for the Town of Webster.

It has been a long journey for Adam Engel, Daniel Gitsis, Nicholas Guercio, Alex Kirkpatrick and Samuel States since they were hired by the Town of Webster back in October, 2013. They first went to the Police Academy for nine months and then had 16-weeks of field training with a trained officer from the Webster Police Department.

This all concluded this past Friday with the graduation of these five gentlemen into Webster Police Officers. We congratulate them and wish them a long career here in the Town of Webster as police officers protecting and serving the Webster residents.

Congratulations are also in order for Carmen Gumina

On July 30th I was informed that Carmen Gumina was appointed as Interim Superintendent of Schools for the Webster Central School District. Carmen is a Webster resident who has served the Webster School District with honor over his many years as a teacher and then principal of State Road School.

As a County Legislator for Webster I have worked with Carmen on many projects over his eight years as a legislator and I expect to work with him as Interim Superintendent of Webster Schools benefiting the entire Webster community.

The whole Town Board wishes to congratulate Carmen on his new appointment and look forward to working with him in the future.
