Dates and Things to Remember ...

Pharmaceutical Waste Drop Box

The newly installed Pharmaceutical Waste Drop Box inside the lobby at Town Hall, in the first two weeks of being installed, has taken in 115 pounds of unused, unwanted or expired medication.

This is outstanding being that it is so new and residents are just hearing about this new program. This certainly saves Lake Ontario and the landfills from getting these outdated medications and contaminating our water supply or filling our soils with medical contamination.

Another good point about this program is the fact that these medications are not just sitting around so our children can get their hands on these medications which may result in them hurting themselves. The waste drop is open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and thank you for your support of this program.

Summer Celebration

Just a remainder that Saturday, June 20th is Webster’s Summer Celebration Day at the Webster Recreation Center, located at 1350 Chiyoda Drive. Games and crafts start at 4:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. with laser tag, face painting, inflatables, and games of chance.

Music begins at 7:45 p.m. with country music by State Line and at 7:45 p.m. with Brass Taxi.

The night finishes off with our grand fireworks at 9:45 p.m. to celebrate the Town of Webster’s 175th Birthday. Please mark your calendars and plan on attending this great event with our Webster community!

Joe Obbie Farmers’ Market

The Joe Obbie Farmers’ Market will have open this year on Saturday, June 13th at 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and run every Saturday through the fall. They will also be open on Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Webster Towne Center, corner of Holt and Ridge Roads.

On opening day Club Scout Pack #108 will help celebrate Flag Day at 10:00 a.m. along with a barbershop singing group performing.

So if you are looking for fresh vegetables, fruit, or other home grown products, please give our Joe Obbie Farmers’ Market a try this year.
