Lakefront Classic Youth Soccer Tournament
The Lakefront Soccer Tournament will be coming to Webster over Father’s Day weekend (June 20th and June 21st). This tournament is the largest outdoor tournament in Western New York and will have over 320 teams from Long Island, Buffalo, Syracuse, Utica and Binghamton coming in to Webster.
During this weekend, the tournament will be played on over 30 grass fields and the Webster area can expect over 20,000 people to visit this region each day of the tournament. This is an economic boost to many local businesses during the tournament which will provide food and services to the many guests that will be visiting Webster for the first time.
So if you see that someone might have lost their way this weekend, please extend the courtesy of asking if you can help them. Also, if you have the time please, please attend a game or two and watch the competition that takes place amongst our youth.
Waterfront Art Festival is coming to Webster
For 41 years the Waterfront Art Festival has been held in Canandaigua and has been a very successful event. Well, coming this July 25th and 26th, the new and improved Waterfront Art Festival will be held right here in Webster at North Ponds Park! We are very excited to bring the festival to Webster along with all of the beautiful artwork, crafts, artists who demonstrate their talents, music, wine tasting and other exciting events.
The town’s main concern is parking and there will be a shuttle service that will run every 15 minutes from the Wegman’s parking lot to North Ponds Park.
As more information becomes available in the coming days I will report to the community what information the town has gathered.
Restrooms are being built at the First Responders Park
The Town of Webster received a grant from Senator Michael Nozzolio to build a restroom facility at the First Responders Park this year. At the present time our Parks employees are in the mist of building the new facility.
On behalf of the Town Board, I want to thank our Parks employees along with the Webster Highway Department for, once again, helping us to build these structures in town, and by doing so saving us from going out to bid and having higher costs for the project.
The new restrooms should be finished by July 4th and I would like to thank Senator Nozzolio once again for his contribution to the First Responders Park, and his continued support of our Webster community.
As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at email@example.com
