First Televised Budget Hearing is this Thursday

Posted on August 10, 2015 at 9:58 AM by PattiAnn Schultz

The first of two televised 2016 Budget hearings with Department Heads will take place this Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Board Room. All residents are welcome to attend the meeting.  If you cannot attend, you may watch it live on Cable Channel 12 or it will be replayed on Channel 12 at a later date for you to review.

The first night the Town Board will interview the Department Heads from Assessing, Police, Library, Parks and Recreation, Cable, and Finance. They will give an overview of their department and go over what is in their budget for 2016.

On Thursday, August 20th the second televised budget hearings will take place at 4:30 p.m. and the Department Heads from Technology, Town Clerk, Justice Courts, Highway, Public Works, and Sewer will present their budgets. Again, these will all be televised and shown on Cable Channel 12 right here in Webster.

Pharmaceutical Waste Drop Box

Please remember that there is a Pharmaceutical Waste Drop Box at the Town Hall!  This permanent pharmaceutical waste drop box can be found inside the Webster Town Hall, located by the Police Department entrance, 1000 Ridge Road, during regular business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Items accepted at the drop box include any unused, unwanted or expired medication such as prescriptions, prescription patches, prescription medication, prescription ointments, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, samples and medications for pets.

Items that are NOT accepted include hydrogen peroxide, inhalers, aerosol cans, ointments, lotions, or liquids, thermometers, needles (sharps) and medication from businesses or clinics.

If you do not feel comfortable with your personal information on the bottles, you can remove the pills and put them in a plastic bag for disposal.

The funniest thing I read on social media this week:

Why doesn’t the Town of Webster fill the empty stores at Baytown Plaza before building more in Webster?  Answer: Baytown Plaza is in the Town of Penfield and the Town of Webster does not have jurisdiction in that area.

If you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at
