Some dates for your December calendar …

December, 2015 Calendar …

  • The leaf pick-up in Webster will end the week of December 1st so that we are able to convert the trucks over to snow plowing operations.  A final pass will be conducted throughout the town, starting from the West side to the East side.  This final pass through town may not take a full week and will depend on the amount of leaves needing to be picked up.

As usual, the Highway Department has been working diligently in collecting over 1,500 truckloads of leaves that will be composted, ground, and turned into leaf mulch in about a year and a half.  After this final pass, this will be the end of the 2015 Fall Leaf Pick-up season.  Any leaves collected after that will need to be bagged and left for your trash collector.

  • The Webster Towne Center is hosting FREE horse drawn carriage rides (weather permitting) on Saturday, December 12th.  The rides will run from 12:00Noon to 4:00 p.m. at the gazebo … and Santa Claus will be there too!
    • From now until December 10th, the Webster Town Hall is once again accepting items for the annual Holiday Drive for the Troops sponsored by Senator Michael Nozzolio.  Each year during the holiday season, Sen. Nozzolio collects nonperishable items throughout his district to be sent to military personnel deployed overseas.

Nonperishable items such as snacks, gum, hard candy, instant coffee and dry-mix beverages such as iced tea and lemonade can be dropped off at the Webster Town Hall.  Other personal items such as DVDs, stationery, pens and small articles of clothing (like hats or socks) are also welcome. Items can be dropped off through December 10th when Senator Nozzolio will send the items to our troops overseas.

Anyone who would like their donated items to be sent to a specific soldier from our region who is currently stationed overseas should contact Senator Nozzolio’s office with the service member’s name and where they are stationed. Senator Nozzolio’s Seneca Falls office can be reached toll free at 1-888-568-9816 or by emailing You can also submit this information by contacting Senator Nozzolio through his Facebook page.

  • For the December 16th monthly Supervisor’s Electronic Town Meeting, my guest will be the newly appointed Town/School Police Resource Officer David Herrle. Off. Herrle will discuss his new duties as School Resource Officer in the Webster Central School District. Also in attendance will be Webster Police Chief Rieger to discuss home safety in light of the recent home invasions in our community.

I would like to take this time to thank Barry Howard for being the moderator of my Electronic Town Meetings. As the Webster Chamber President, Barry brings a host of Webster knowledge and the gift-of-gab to our monthly meetings and they would not be the same without him!

Recently, town officials had a lengthy meeting with New York State Department of Transportation on the status of the reconstruction of the intersections at Five Mile Line Road and Hard Road that intersect with Route 404. Design plans are currently being developed and bids will go out in January, 2017.  The DOT is planning on construction starting in the spring of 2017 and ending in October, 2017.  I will continue to keep you informed as I receive updates in the future. The Town of Webster and the NYS DOT will be having a public meeting sometime in the spring of 2016, before a Town Board Meeting, for all Webster residents to see and ask questions about the upcoming project.

As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at
