With the stretches of warmer weather that we have been having, I am once again addressing the issue of picking up after your dog while out walking him/her (on a leash!) around North Ponds, the Whiting Road Nature Trails and in your neighborhood. As the snow melts and the trails are now visible, it is disgusting to see the waste that has been left by pets as residents are not picking up after their dog(s). The trails at Whiting Road are a mess of dog waste from people just leaving the waste on the trials during the winter. I can only wonder how residents can be so inconsiderate to do that. Would you like it if that was in your front yard? So why do it on the trails and at North Ponds?
So, for the umpteenth time, I ask you to please pick up after your dog when out and about in the Town of Webster. Please be considerate of other Webster residents as you walk your dog (on a leash!) or risk getting a ticket for not doing so.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The Monroe County Department of Environmental Services (DES), the Town of Webster and the Town of Penfield has joined forces to hold an appointment-only Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection on Saturday, April 16, 2016. This collection will take place at the Penfield Department of Public Works, 1607 Jackson Road, from 7:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Most HHW (paint, flammables and other chemicals from home-use) is safe when used and stored properly. When they become unwanted and are disposed of improperly, these household wastes can become environmental hazards.
To ensure safety and reduce waiting times, appointments are required at all HHW collections. Appointments for this HHW collection will be accepted until April 15th. To schedule an appointment, Webster residents should call 872-1443 (Monday thru Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.); Penfield residents can call 340-8710 or go on-line to http://www.monroecounty.gov/hhw to schedule your appointment. This Household Hazardous Waste collection is open to all Monroe County residents. Waste from businesses will not be accepted.
Town Hall Offices will be Closed
Please note that Town Hall will be closed on Friday, March 25th which is also the Good Friday holiday. We will reopen for business on Monday, March 28th.
