This past week members of the Knights of Columbus spent a whole evening walking North Ponds Park and cleaning up papers and debris from the area. They sent me pictures of bags of garbage that they collected from the site that people had just left behind.
I was disgusted at what I saw in the pictures as there were countless blue bags (taken from the dog station along the trail) that were thrown aside in the bushes along the trail filled with dog waste. I cannot tell you how disturbing this is to know that people are that careless and disrespectful of other residents in the Town of Webster. How difficult is it to take that little bag of dog waste to the nearest receptacle and properly dispose of it? Does anyone have an answer for these actions?
This is also the case along the trails at Whiting Road. Trail stewards from the Friends of the Webster Trails spent countless hours walking the trails cleaning up dog waste along the trail system. Once again, many blue bags where found thrown all over the trails and many piles of dog waste where just left right in the middle of the trails. I can only wonder how residents can be so inconsiderate to do that. Would you like it if that was in your front yard? So why do it on the trails and at North Ponds?
So, once again and for the umpteenth time, I ask you to please pick up after your dog when out and about in the Town of Webster. Please be considerate of other Webster residents as you walk your dog (on a leash!) or risk getting a ticket for not doing so.
As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at email@example.com
