On Sunday, June 5th, the Town Board attended the grand re-opening of the newly renovated Webster Public Library. There is only one word to describe the renovations and the new Library: AMAZING!
The renovations have added around 4,000 square feet of space and gives the library much more square footage to offer new programs. The children’s room has been enlarged, a large print section has been added, and a special room for the Friends of the Library has been added for their book sales.
The reason for this renovation was the need for more parking for library patrons. This was accomplished with a parking lot in the rear of the building where the new library entrance is now located. So far there is plenty of parking for all and the plaza has a new tenant, Pet Savers, which now has plenty of parking in the front of the plaza to support their grand opening.
There are many people to thank for the hard work on the addition to the library but here are a few that have put in plenty of time over the last year to make this renovation a positive enhancement for Webster. First, the plaza owner, Mr. Alan Gindi, who paid for the addition to the plaza, the Library Board of Trustees, FHI Construction, and the Director of the Library, Ms. Terri Bennett.
If you have not been to the new Library take the time in the coming weeks and you will not be disappointed in the new and larger Webster Public Library serving you, the residents of Webster.
