This past Saturday, I and Town Board members Patti Cataldi, Barry Deane, and Alecia Mazzo attended the ground breaking ceremonies of the Challenger Miracle Field right here on field number two at Ridge Park.
The attendance for this outstanding event was 300 people who came participate in the day’s festivities. The new Miracle Field will only be the third such field in all of New York State which will provide sports activities for challenged boys, girls, men and women of all ages.
The Town of Webster has donated the field and future maintenance to the Challenger Miracle Field Association to make this dream come true. The Town Board looks forward to the Grand Opening of the Challenger Miracle Field sometime in the spring of 2017.
Last week the new Five Below store opened to great reviews in Towne Center, and this past Sunday over 100 people were standing in line for the ribbon cutting of the new Michaels store also located in Towne Center.
This is the first expansion in the Rochester area for a Michaels store in the past eight years. I was told that Michaels has been looking for a site in Webster for at least ten years. I guess that this dismisses the myth that Webster is not a good place to come to when stores wait ten years to find the right location to settle in Webster.
