2016 Annual Leaf Pick-Up

Posted on October 24, 2016 at 2:41 PM by PattiAnn Schultz

The Town of Webster Highway Department started the annual Leaf Pick-Up on Monday, October 24th.  Every effort will be made to pick up leaves on a weekly basis until the week of Monday, November 28th.  At that time, a final pass will be conducted throughout the town, starting from the West side to the East side.

Just a reminder, as we move through the leaf season, leaves should be kept on your lawn and not raked in to the gutters or the road way.  If leaves are in the road, this can cause traffic to move over and could cause an accident with oncoming traffic. Leaves in the gutters can clog catch basins and cause flooding in the streets and that could potentially cause water backups in your home.

The Highway Department will continue to crisscross the entire Town of Webster picking up leaves for an extended period of time until the leaves are down and collected. Please have patience because on sunny days we can move right along.  However, on rainy and wet days the process is slowed up quite a bit because of the drag on our equipment.

This final pass through town may not take a full week and will depend on the amount of leaves needing to be picked up.  This will also end the 2016 Fall Leaf Pick-up season.  Any leaves collected after that will need to be bagged and left for your trash collector.

If anyone has any questions regarding the annual Leaf Pick-up, please contact the Highway Department at 872-1443, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime
