RG&E at June 14th Electronic Town Meeting

Posted on June 5, 2017 at 8:48 AM by PattiAnn Schultz

On Wednesday, June 14th at 7:30 p.m. representatives from RG&E will be my guests on my monthly Electronic Town Meeting.  They will be discussing various issues pertaining to the Webster area, and will be available to answer questions about power outages here in Webster and the wind storm that we had this year.

You will be able to call in with your questions and I and the moderator Barry Howard, along with RG&E representatives will try to answer all of your questions about town government and the recent power outages here in Webster.

Just the Facts

There are 30,300 registered voters in the Town of Webster, not counting Penfield.  However, only just over 2,800 showed up at the recent Webster Central School District budget vote.

After spending time this past Monday celebrating the heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to have this opportunity to vote, this poor showing does not speak well of the people of Webster.  We should at least make the effort to vote, either for or against, for something that will impact our lives and not be so non-committal as to think it does not matter in your life because in the long run it really does.

Summer Celebration is coming on Saturday, June 24th

The fun and good times start at 4:00 p.m. with food trucks, games and inflatable’s with two bands playing throughout the night. Stateline will be playing from 5:30 p.m.–7:15 p.m., and Brass Taxi will play from 7:45 p.m.– 9:45 p.m. with a giant fireworks display taking place at 9:45 p.m.

Free parking and transportation from the Xerox parking lot across from the Webster Recreation Building is provided. There are usually around 5,000 to 6,000 Webster residents gathering here on this night enjoying entertainment and being with friends and neighbors for great conversations and a good time.

Drug Collection Unit at Town Hall is CLOSED

The CVS Drug Collection unit at the Webster Town Hall will NOT be available until the Town Hall renovations are complete.  We have confirmed with the following institutions that a drug collection unit is available to the public for dropping off unwanted, unused or expired pharmaceuticals:

  • Walgreens, Irondequoit (corner of Ridge Rd. and Culver Rd.), 2100 East Ridge Road, BUT ONLY during pharmacy hours which are: 8 a.m. -10 p.m. (M-F), 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (Sat.) and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Sun)
  • Irondequoit Police Department, Public Safety Building, 1300 Titus Avenue, Irondequoit, NY 14617
  • Fairport Police Department, 31 South Main Street, Fairport, NY 14450
  • East Rochester Police Department, 317 Main Street, East Rochester, NY 14445

We will keep everyone informed as to when our drop box will reopen, and when the next Pharmaceutical Waste pickup is scheduled later this year.

As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at
