Employees Move into the new Community Center!

Posted on September 19, 2011 at 11:17 AM by PattiAnn Schultz

Well, after receiving the Certificate of Occupancy from the town’s Building Department, employees of the Parks and Recreation Department started to move into the new building over the weekend.

This is an exciting time for the employees of Parks and Recreation who for the past 18-months have been working out of a trailer on the side of the building. They have endured an endless amount of disruption on almost daily bases during this time. Many days the power was out, the long walk to the trailer on windy and snow days, the many days that they parked their car here - then there - or maybe over there during construction. The working conditions where very tight with desks being right on top of each other and programs being held all over town which required driving to and from each day.

It was nice to see the smiles on their faces on Friday as they began to move their personal belongs into their new home. As they customize their offices with the details only they can do, it was nice to hear the stories from them on how this new building is going to bring more and new interesting programs to the town. I have no doubt that the future of programming and activities will increase as our employees get accustomed to their new surroundings.

In just 18-days the new Webster Community Center will open to all residents on October 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. I hope to see many residents of the town at the Grand Opening.
