Remember Our Veterans

Posted on November 4, 2011 at 11:15 AM by PattiAnn Schultz

Friday is Veterans’ Day, which for years had been known as Armistice Day following the end of the First World War.

Both Veterans’ Day and Memorial Day should not be the only two days that we should remember our brave men and women who are serving in the military. We should remember them every day of the year.

Too many brave men and women, friends, neighbors and family members, have sacrificed their lives in defense of our freedom. This is why I encourage Webster residents to fly the American flag every day in a show of support for those who serve in our military both here and overseas.

There is a plaque in Town Hall listing the number of Webster residents who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. I pray that we never have to add another name to that wall of honor.

In remembrance to those who have served and those that continue to serve to protect this great nation of ours, Webster Town Hall will be closed on Friday, November 11th. We will reopen for business on Monday, November 14th.

May God bless our veterans and their families.
