Parks and Recreation Information Going On-Line

In the town’s continuing efforts to find ways to save tax dollars, a decision was made involving the Parks and Recreation booklet that has been a regular feature with the Town Times that is distributed to every household in the town of Webster.

This booklet, which includes numerous programs offered at the Parks and Recreation Department, is very costly to print over 70 pages of information. Therefore, in order to save money, the town has decided to continue offering this information on-line only.

This means that in the future you will be able to log onto the town’s website and read what programs Parks and Recreation will be offering for the coming year. If you do not own a computer, you can either visit the Webster Public Library where there are numerous computers available for our customers, or copies of all the programs will be available at the Parks and Recreation building on Chiyoda Drive on January 1st. You will be able to find all of your favorite programs on line at our new web site by just clicking on the Parks and Recreation tab

This new web based software program is called RecTrac and it allows residents to register for programs right on line at our newly updated and modern town web site.

By omitting the Parks and Recreation insert with the Town Times, the town is saving around $20,000 plus a few trees in the process.

The 2011 winter edition of the Town Times will still be delivered to your homes around the second week of January and it will contain news and events from all of our town departments.

Holiday Reminder

The Webster Town Hall will be closed on Friday, December 24th and Friday, December 31st as we celebrate the Christmas holiday and New Years. On behalf of the entire staff at the Town of Webster, we want to wish you, your family and friends a joyous and safe holiday season.
