A Tribute to a Former Town Board Member and Friend

Posted on February 27, 2012 at 10:12 AM by PattiAnn Schultz

On Thursday, February 23rd former Town Board member Ronald Nothnagle suddenly passed away from a heart attack.

Ron had a long and distinguished career in town government by first serving on the Zoning Board of Appeals and then four years as a member of the Webster Town Board. In 2010, Ron once again served on the Zoning Board, this time as Chairman, after deciding not to seek a second term on the town board.

Ron was a graduate from RIT and a retiree from the Eastman Kodak Company where he worked for over 30 years as a research scientist with six patents credited to him.

Before moving to Webster, Ron was involved with the volunteer fire department in the town of Brighton as a Fire Commissioner. Ron was also a recreational vehicle enthusiast who loved nothing more than driving across the United States on vacation in his RV.

Those of us who personally knew or worked with Ron shall miss him terribly. His sudden departure is also a loss for the entire Town of Webster as Ron Nothnagle personified what a good honest public servant should be.
