Looking for World War II Veterans for Honor Flight

Posted on April 30, 2012 at 2:28 PM by PattiAnn Schultz

I attended a meeting last week on the Honor Flight program for American Veterans, for your sacrifices and achievements.  Top priority is given to WW II and terminally ill veterans from any era to go see YOUR memorial in Washington, DC at no cost to the veteran.

In the future, Honor Flight will be expanded to include Korean and then Vietnam War veterans. In order for Honor Flight to achieve this goal, guardians fly with the veterans on every flight providing assistance and helping veterans with a safe, memorable and rewarding experience.

I have first hand knowledge of what a great trip this is to the veterans because my father-in-law, Ed Wood who just turned 90 last week, went on a trip last year with my wife, Karen. They had an outstanding and exciting time seeing the sites of Washington, DC and engaging in conversations with the many other World War II veterans on the trip. The climax of the trip was the warm and loving support of family and friends waiting for them at the Rochester International Airport on their return.

The Webster community is looking for any eligible veterans that would like to make this exciting trip to Washington, DC for your sacrifices to our county. Please contact my office in the Town Hall at 872-7068 or email me at for a Veteran Application.

For what you and your comrades have given to us, please consider this a small token of appreciation from the board at Honor Flight.

As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at
