As Anticipated --- Xerox Sues Over Assessment

Posted on July 16, 2012 at 10:19 AM by PattiAnn Schultz

Xerox has filed an Article 7 of the Real Property Law of a Tax Assessment on three parcels of land at their campus on Phillips Road. The date of the filing was July 11, 2012 in the County of Monroe Supreme Court.

They are asking for a reduction of their current assessment on three parcels of property they own, two on Phillips Road and one on Chiyoda Drive. The current assessments of the three properties are valued at $80 million and Xerox is seeking a $58 million reduction to $22 million.

As this is now a legal matter in front of Judge Rosenbaum, the Town Board will have no further comments on the case until a final ruling is made by the judge.

The Town Board will proceed with our budget hearings and formation of the 2013 Budget with the knowledge that any decrease in the assessment of the Xerox property will have an impact on the town budget for 2013 and all of our town departments.

Vote- Vote- Vote- on the new Fire House

Residents east of Hard Road remember that you have a vote coming on the building of a new fire/ambulance station at the corner of Phillips Road and Schlegel Road. The purposed new station will cost $5.4 million and it will be bonded over 30-years. For more information go to or attend the Fire Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, July 18th at 7:30 p.m. at 35 South Avenue and ask your questions there.

Remember – it is your vote that controls whether the new fire/ambulance station gets built or not, so go VOTE.
