As everyone now prepares to do their taxes by the April 15th deadline, the Town of Webster Finance Department also goes through a yearly audit of its books and finances. The town hires an outside firm who independently audits the Finance Department, the Town Clerk’s Office and the Court Clerk’s Office. They do an extensive check of all incoming and outgoing expenses to make sure your taxpayer dollars are accounted for properly.
Any issues resulting from this audit are reported to the Town Board for any action that may be deemed necessary by the Board. Any corrective actions that the audit firm sees which need immediately attention are not taken lightly by the Town Board and are fixed within a short period of time. In the past, the audit firm has not found any major problems with the accountability of taxpayers’ funds in the Town of Webster. This is a great credit to the outstanding work the women in the Finance Department, Town Clerks office and Court Clerk’s office do to maintain the records of the town.
Congratulations to Three Police Officers
The Webster Town Board would like to offer its congratulations to newly appointed Lt. Dennis Kohlmeier, newly appointed Sgt. Shaun Welch and newly appointed Inv. Troy Williams. These three gentlemen have earned these promotions through their hard work and dedication in the department and the Town Board wishes them well in their new appointments.
