A message from the Webster CSD and Webster Police Department:
We have been made aware of a national TikTok threat that is circulating regarding violence at schools nationwide on Friday, December 17. At this time, the origins of this threat are unknown.
It is important to note that Webster CSD has not received any threatening messages, but we wanted you to be aware of this national trend. As is our protocol, we will continue to partner with the Webster Police Department and our school resource officers to closely monitor social media and follow up on any concerning information that is brought to our attention.
It is critical for families to continue having conversations about digital citizenship and cyber safety with your children. As a reminder, these are the digital citizenship resources that we shared earlier this year with you. Please remind your children that if they see (or hear) something, say something!
If you or your student have particular concerns, please reach out to a school administrator. You may also contact the Safe School Helpline at 1-800-4-1-VOICE (1-800-418-6423), ext. 359, which is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reports may also be made by texting the word "TIPS" to 614-426-0240 or online at safeschoolhelpline.com.
Thank you for your support to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff.
All our best,
Superintendent of Schools
Chief Dennis Kohlmeier
